FAQs

If you have any questions, you might find the answers below – and if not, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

  • We’re Carlos and Lucie – a husband-and-wife team bringing our dream restaurant to life. Carlos is originally from Brazil (with Italian roots) and has lived in Europe for nearly 20 years. He spent 12 years in London, working at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze Grill, followed by nine years at the Ottolenghi group, where he worked his way up to Head and Executive Chef.

We moved to Belfast (Lucie’s hometown) in early 2021 and have spent the past few years building the Capparelli pasta brand. Our pasta is now award-winning, with recognition from the Blas na hÉireann (Irish Food Awards) in 2023 and 2024, as well as two Great Taste stars for our Einkorn pasta.

Lucie leads all things marketing and operations, having worked in top PR and marketing agencies in London and Belfast for over 15 years, specialising in food and drink.

  • You can book tables of up to six people online or by phone. For groups of six or more, please email us at hello@capparelli.co.uk.

Please note: a 10% service charge will be added to all group bookings of 6 and over.

  • We’re happy to accommodate dietary restrictions where possible. Please inform your server on arrival, and ideally let us know when booking so we can prepare accordingly.

  • We love a good celebration! Let us know if you’re celebrating a special occasion and we’ll happily add candles to your dessert. You’re also very welcome to bring your own cake – just give us a heads-up when booking, if possible.

  • We’re a family business with young children ourselves, so kids are always welcome.  If you’ll need space for a pram, just let us know when booking and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

We don’t have a specific children’s menu, but many of our dishes can be adapted into smaller portions for little appetites.

  • Whilst we love dogs, we kindly ask that they don’t come into the restaurant itself.  However, they’re always welcome in the outdoor seating area at the café.

  • There’s no dress code – just come as you are and wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

  • We have plenty of parking space available. If you’re coming via public transport, there is an Ulsterbus bus stop just outside the Mill.

  • Our restaurant is fully accessible for wheelchair users and prams.

We do not have a lift, but there is a ramp to the side of the building and guests can also be dropped off at the back of the restaurant to avoid the stairs if needed. Please email us or give us a ring to chat through any accessibility questions.

  • Due to our licensing, the bar area supplies the restaurant only.
